I offer case studies in order to align you to the healing possibilities that open up when we understand consciousness to be the prima materia. Mostly, I am describing what happens as my imagination interacts with the informational field. In an in-person treatment, this is what guides my hands to apply resonant attention, allowance, and light touch to the client’s fully-clothed body; online, I am just applying attention and allowance and ask the person to place their hands on different locations on the body, though I also use my hands as if we were working in person. Everything I describe is profoundly different than allopathic medical treatment and even most bodywork.
Penny is a regular client whose issues have improved steadily. She felt better after our last session, but then suffered an acute injury. She had fallen and her left knee, hip, and whole body were now hurting.
Normally, working with a recent injury is immensely gratifying. The body is usually actively engaging the tissues already, so applying attention + allowance can be like putting a windsail up in a hurricane. But don’t take my word for it: Here’s an account of radical healing written by one of my earliest students.
In this case, Penny’s body still seemed to be in ‘splinting’ mode. This is the first stage of recovery, when the tissues are swollen and stiff, and provide a stable internal environment for healing. To my mind’s eye, the area around her left hip looked like one of those men wearing Renaissance breeches:
”Yup,” Penny said. “That’s what it feels like.” Luckily, her hip shifted quickly as we held attention + allowance on it. “Wow, I can feel it processing all up and down that side,” Penny said.
