I’m so excited about our first Resonant Attention class starting in less than a week! Sign up now if you haven’t already and pass it on to whomever your intuition has been nagging you about. : )
A lot of people have been asking about whether or not I will be recording the class. I will, and I think it’s okay to catch up on one session, but if you can’t be present for the majority of the time, I think you might miss out since so much of what we’ll be doing will be geared to the felt sense and reading the field. So if November 6, 11 & 20 from 9am - 10:30am eastern doesn’t work for you, I suggest just waiting for the next go-around. I’ll be sure to schedule the upcoming classes for a different time/weekday slot to ensure that other time zones and needs can be accommodated.
Some people have also been asking about what books might be helpful to read. My short-list is: Body Wisdom by Sharon Wieselfish-Giammatteo; Waking the Tiger by Peter Levine; and The Sequence of Latent Truths by Wenzl Mcgowan. The latter is new to me and probably to you, too. But it’s brilliant and so pertinent to what we’ll be doing that I’m planning to interview Mcgowan soon. In the meanwhile, here’s a quote from it that I hope will get you excited about what we’ll soon be learning:
"Our beliefs have the power to medicate our body, and that’s the reason why there is such a thing as the placebo effect. But what happens if we do not believe anything? If we just pay attention to how our bodies are feeling? What happens to our bodies’ capacity to generate chemical realities when we no longer tell the body what is true and what isn’t?
My hypothesis is that we empower our cells when we suspend our beliefs. In this state, we are no longer telling them what emotional state to create; instead we are ‘listening’ to what they are experiencing. Our cells’ language is chemical, and our understanding of their chemical language is our experience of emotions. So when we quite our minds and disregard our thoughts, we can use our focus to scan each area of our bodies. This meditation technique is called Vipassana meditation.”—Wenzl Mcgowan, from The Sequence of Latent Truths

I'm excited about the class and signed up, but haven't received any information about how to attend. I'm assuming it's forthcoming, but wanted to be sure that I'm on the list.
I signed up. Will likely miss the middle class live as my twins have their 13th birthday party that day, sigh. But I will surely listen to the recording! Otherwise excited and grateful. Hoping to buy those books and start reading. Have read Peter Levin's book already years ago. Love it. Looking forward to the others! And to the class.
