Healing Mom and Baby Can Be Easy
I recently worked with a mother of two children under four years old. She told me a story that marvelously illustrates the power of Resonant Attention in healing. Then I’ll include some postpartum care tips I also gleaned from her field.
The story starts in a way familiar to almost all mothers: Baby starts to cry in agony as an earache takes hold. But in this case, mother puts her hand on baby’s ear and holds it calmly while attending and allowing.
Then something miraculous happens. Mother starts to receive quick images of a man getting his ear bashed in with a rock. Almost immediately, baby stops crying and tells his father, “Daddy, my ear doesn’t hurt anymore.”
That’s it. The whole story. That’s how easy healing can be.
It doesn’t really matter if the information mother was receiving was a “past life” or her imagination. It doesn’t matter if anybody believes mother’s experience was “real.” All that really matters, I’m sure everyone will agree, is that baby felt better.
And if you want to learn how to do this for yourself and your child, become a member and join our next group healing session.
Two other contributions to our collective holding of what’s possible also came from this excellent mother. They’re both ways of attending to mother’s emotional body.
The first is for mother to hold underneath her own breasts. The intention is to give them a rest; to make space for mother to nourish herself. While holding the breasts this way, mother could check in with her inner child and/or her emotional body. Check in with the feeling of giving that is mothers’ milieu and gift that giving to one’s self. Even if only for 1-3 minutes per day.
The second present a mother might give herself is to attend to any feelings of being “stretched beyond her limits.” Begin by holding the belly, tuning into the myometrium that surrounds the uterus, and attending and allowing there. This middle layer of the uterus seems to be activated by that emotion, which can be soothed by giving it compassion.
Love,
Stella

Just read the new year post.
Glad I pursued past posts. This helps explain some of the post-first session symptoms that I’m experiencing. I will continue with the RA where we left off. Interestingly, my body seems to want to work from the top down. Thank you Stella for our first meeting.
Where can I find the next group session?
